Dr. Palu has over 23 years of extensive experience in treating patients who have sustained injuries around the eyes. His training at NYU included treating trauma patients at Bellevue Hospital, where he has taught since 1989 as part of his teaching at NYU School of Medicine and NYU Medical Center. During his fellowship in Boston he treated trauma patients at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Palu treats,

  • Eyelid and Eyebrow Trauma – including lacerations, contusions, burns, traumatic ptosis, cicatricial ectropion, etc
  • Orbital Trauma – including orbital fractures, orbital floor fractures (blowout fractures), retrobulbar hemorrhages (orbital hemorrhages), post traumatic enophthalmos, etc
  • Nasolacrimal System Trauma – including canalicular lacerations, eyelid lacerations, nasolacrimal duct obstruction/blockage (tear duct obstruction/blockage), etc

Dr. Palu also sees patients requiring enucleation, socket reconstruction, and orbital reconstruction.

Dr. Palu will often work in conjunction with surgeons in other specialties to treat patients with complex injuries involving structures around the eyes.
